We have four sets of gorgeous natural cosmetics to give away, each set worth £100.50…
Time was when natural and organic make-up was disappointing in comparison to the conventional ranges. Now, like skin and hair care, natural make-up has made huge strides, becoming more sophisticated and luxurious every year. So green goddesses really don’t have to compromise their ideals.
Way out ahead in the pioneering natural cosmetic ranges is Odylique, which started out in 2003 as Essential Care then recently adopted the more exotic Odylique (which means ‘power of nature’). Odylique skincare won Best Organic Range 2016. (Currently, some make-up items are still called Essential Care but, from May this year, everything will be Odylique.)
We have known and loved the founders Margaret Weeds and her chemist daughter Abi since the beginning, when Margaret made everything at her kitchen table in Suffolk. They are as dedicated now as they were then and all their products are just beautiful.
For this almost-in-Spring prize, Odylique is offering four Beauty Bible readers a chance to try their fab products. Each prize will contain the following:
Essential Care Mascara (in Brown/usually £17.50) – the first Soil Association-certified organic mascara, these are 100% natural so free of all synthetic chemicals, including solvents and plasticisers, yet packed with conditioning plant extracts. Kind to eyes and contact lens wearers, they are wonderfully smudge-resistant. No fibres tho’ so it will colour and define but not volumise.
Organic Mineral Lipstick (in Rose Parfait 10/£18) – we’re big fans of these creamy nourishing lipsticks. Rose Parfait 10 is a suits-everyone mid-rose with a subtle sheen that last well. And again, it’s certified to Soil Association and Fair-trade standards.
Organic Eye Liner (£12.50) – we think even Cleopatra would have swopped her kohl for this soft, smudgeable, black pencil that nestles at the base of lashes to create a gorgeous smoky look.
Create Your Own Eye Shadow Palette (£34.50) – these gorgeous vegan shadows, in a palette with a mirror (hoorah!) are made from pure mineral colours with plant oils and extracts for calendula, chamomile and sea buckthorn so they are perfect for sensitive peepers. Winners can choose four colours.
Odylique Creamy Coconut Cleanser (£18 for 200 ml) – Beauty Bible testers adored this gentle but effective, 87% organic cleanser, which is detergent-free and great for all skin types including sensitive. We love that it takes off eye make up too.
