There is something just so cheering about a little Chanel make-up splurge. Much, much cheaper than a pair of shoes or a new frock, and honestly as spirit-lifting.
They’ve truly nailed summer for 2017 – sub-titling resident make-up artist Lucia Pica’s collection ‘Les Indispensables de L’Éte’ (or ‘summer’s indispensibles).
We thought we’d share our picks from the collection – and add in a find from the Les Beiges 2017 Collection that’s fast-tracked into our make-up kit.
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick Blush (it’s £34) – beautifully easy-to-blend blusher stick which is great for perking up a pale face on the go – just a tiny hint of shimmer, rather than full-on beam.
Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine (£28) – in Golden Sand and Golden Sun, these are a brilliant slick for making any lipstick shout ‘summer’, with their flecks of glimmer – or can of course be worn on their own. And hydrating they certainly are.
Le Vernis Culte Nail Colour (£20) – there is frankly no prettier colour for summer 2017 than Coquillage, which is the prettiest shell pink/coral tone, and universally flattering. (There’s a true coral, a deep inky blue and a more sandy shade, too.
Inimitable Waterproof (£26) – one of our very, very favourite waterproof mascaras is available for summer in limited Brun Profund – a dark, dark brown.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, Cruise 2017-wise (iceberg being of course the wrong metaphor for summer, but you get our drift). Frankly, we never need much of an excuse to swing by a Chanel counter for a little fillip – and nor should you. (And if ever a purchase feels extravagant, skip your takeaway coffees till you’ve made up the amount!)
