Amy loves… recapturing summer with a fragrance, a beauty classic, a golden treat and fabulous foundation…

Organic Pharmacy Organic Glam Orange Blossom
Organic Pharmacy Organic Glam Orange BlossomI have fallen head-over-heels for this beautiful scent.  Housed in an incredibly glamorous, old Hollywood-style bottle (it just makes me want to fill my dressing table with powder puffs and beautiful compacts), the fragrance itself is just as gorgeous.  Wonderfully uplifting and refreshing notes of sweet orange, green mandarin and Moroccan orange blossom are bursting from every spritz.  The Organic Pharmacy’s founder, Margo Marrone, created the range of five fragrances with 100% natural and organic ingredients, to fit in with the ethos of the brand – and bravo:  I think she’s done a fabulous job.  Each one is special; I’m rather keen to try the Oud one, too – but for now Orange Blossom is my perfect companion.

Lanolips Golden Ointment
sept_12_we_love_lanolipsThe arrival of my much anticipated new desk this month has meant A LOT of organising and feng shui-ing of my office.  Underneath mounds of paper for recycling, countless empty stamp books and about five broken staplers, I actually found something useful:  this little treasure had fallen down the back of my old desk. I fished it out and slathered a bit on my rather dry lips and cuticles – gorgeous! Thanks to added Manuka honey this is like a sweet treat and pure grade lanolin and vitamin E mean it’s an excellent moisturiser and skin repairer, for wherever your body may need it.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
Clarins Beauty Flash BalmAfter an August filled with parties (hen parties, wedding parties and family parties), autumn has started a little less fun with no parties and just tired, dull skin (thanks to August).  I’ve been upping my water intake to try and rejuvenate my sad complexion but I’ve also rediscovered the infamous Clarins Beauty Flash Balm and added it to the mix.  I’ve never really got on with this beauty legend despite hearing many ladies rave about it – but I have to be honest and say I-just-didn’t-get-it.  Then I happened to be watching one of beauty-guru Lisa Eldridge’s (genius) videos where she was talking about Beauty Flash Balm, in particular, the application – and I soon realised this is where I’d been going wrong. Instead of rubbing it into skin you are meant to just smooth it on with very few strokes so it’s more like a thin layer, then immediately start your make-up routine. It adds a luminous glow and makes skin look rested and radiant.  It DOES live up to its ‘hero’ status, I now realise!

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation
Bourjois 123 Perfect FoundationI discovered this Bourjois beauty bargain while away from home for a night and ‘cleverly’ forgetting my make up bag.  Perusing the aisles of my nereast drugstore for replacements, I found the Bourjois stand – and this little bottle…  It’s described as containing three colour correcting pigments:  yellow for dark circles, mauve to give radiance and green to neutralise redness and even the complexion.  I picked shade 51 Light Vanilla, the fairest of five shades and was impressed from first application.  It’s very light but offers a great medium coverage and really does even out my blotchy, pale skin AND it does a good enough job at hiding my dark under eye circles that I haven’t been having to use any concealer!  Anything that helps you skip a step and save time is a keeper for me.
